Upon digging through survey photos of loggers in the PNW and American Midwest, we came across one in particular that featured a logger wearing a weathered and worn peacoat. You could tell this thing had carried him through multiple winters and was one of, if not, his only coat. And that's our favorite kind of inspiration; clothes that have been not only well-loved, but \u003cem\u003elived in\u003c\/em\u003e, relied upon, and beaten to death.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRather than trying to find some roundabout way to recreate this amazingly-weathered vintage cloth, we took our curiosity to the Casentino Valley in Italy, where they've been making their signature cloth since the 14th century. This fabric had similar characteristics to the photo we fell in love with, but felt more in-line with fabric developments we've done before.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd rather than trying to recreate his peacoat, we went after early patterns of naval peacoats, and our NYC factory knocked it out of the park.
