It's woven on vintage selvedge loom by a Japanese mill that specializes in weaving this fabric, exactly like it used to be made in the 40s and 50s. It's one of the only fabrics this mill produces.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne of the amazing things about bedford cord is how hard wearing it is on the outside, but how soft and stretchy it is on the inside. They've been weaving corduroy since the late 1800s, and still have a stream running through the mill which they use to wash and clean the cotton.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eAn exclusive fabric to Wythe, the donegal cords came about when we were looking for a corduroy to compliment our donegal tweed. We approached this historic corduroy mill with some of our inspiration, and we worked together to go through their archive to come up with the answer. Throughout the years, they had come up with their own printing process to achieve a donegal effect in their signature super-soft corduroy. This effect is unique to this mill and there are many steps involved in the process to create this beautiful fabric.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe five pocket pant was the original pattern we used in our donegal cord program, which has since spawned more and more uses for it. We developed this discharge-printed moleskin, but it's not like our usual moleskin. This particular fabric is more akin to the old French workwear versions of moleskin - harder wearing, no real nap on the fabric, and still needs to be broken in a bit. It's also a much narrower, finer dotted-stripe printed than what you would normally seen on a Wabash stripe.
